Work group “Open Water Systems”

The first work group will focus their work on following topics: 

	Restoration of urban open water bodies and accompanying aquatic ecosystem
	creation and protection of floodplains
	multiple use of water bodies and floodplains.

Members of this workgroup are the Emschergenossenschaft and the Lippeverband, both aiming at recovering watercourses, the municipality of Nijmegen, restoring open watercourses, the Rijkswaterstaat, planning the integrated use of the Nederijn floodplains within the city of Arnhem and Lille, integrating the Espierre into an urban environment by regrading and restoration.
