Work group "Urban Water Chains"

The second work group will focus their work on following topics:

	Optimisation of functioning of existing sewer / drainage systems
	Decentralised storm water treatment (disconnection of storm water from sewer system, decentralised strom water storage, improving subsoil infiltration)
	otimising ground water balance for housing and water supply (assuring sufficient ground water tables for ater supply, avoiding of high ground water tables in housing estates)

In work group "Urban Water chains" participate

the Emschergenossenschaft: elaborating opportunities for storm water disconnection,

the municipality of Nieuwegein: identifing options for disconnection and groundwater drainage in housing estates,

the municipality of Arnheim: optimising the existing sewer system

and Renfrewshire: designing plans for a comprehensive storm water treatment within the whole country.
